How Ehsaas Program is Helping Students

In Pakistan, higher education is seen as a key pathway out of poverty, especially after completing intermediate education. Only 0.4% of children from the lowest income families of the relevant age fellows are enrolled in higher education institutions, which is significantly below the national average of 10%. This is when the Ehsaas Undergraduate Program was launched to address the inequality.

The Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarship Program is an initiative in Pakistan’s history, launched by the Prime Minister. Its main aim is to support students from middle-class families who cannot afford higher education expenses. Therefore, it not only covers the tuition fees but also hostel fees for those in need. For four years, it is assumed that more than 200,000 students will benefit from this program.
